Which accommodation in Yosemite is the best?

There are many ways to see Yosemite National Park, including immersing yourself in an accommodation experience – cabins and lodges are very different options.

Yosemite is one of the most spectacular national parks in all of the United States. While it’s not possible to stay in many national parks, Yosemite offers a number of accommodation options. Yosemite has lodges, inns, hotels, private cabins (or vacation homes), backcountry camping, RV camping, and more. Here we will consider the lodges and cabins of Yosemite.

Yosemite is perfect for backpacking and has hikes for everyone. One of the main attractions of the park is the breathtaking Yosemite Falls that characterize the valley.

Private cabins

Most of the private vacation homes can be found in Wawona Village. It is a small village located not far from the main entrance and near the grove of Mariposa with the famous grove of giant sequoias. It was a village before it became part of the national park, so you can rent a cabin in this peaceful village in the park – although it is quite a distance from Yosemite Valley.

  • Cabins: Mainly in the village of Wawona
  • Attractions: Wawona attractions include the Mariposa Grove, Chilnualna Falls, and the Pioneer History Center

Most or most of the park’s private cabins are managed by Redwoods in Yosemite. All of their cabins are located in the national park approximately 4.5 miles inside the south gate of Wawona town. Most visitors walk right past on their way to the valley, leaving Wawona as a hidden gem.

Wawona is also the closest community to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias – the largest such grove in Yosemite National Park. Another attraction is Chilnualna Falls – the second tallest vertical waterfall in the park.

  • The grove of Mariposa: Includes the Grizzly Giant, California Tunnel Tree, and more

The price of cabins ranges from around $ 250 per night to over $ 1,000 per night (plus cleaning fees, etc.). They are a great option for groups and those who like their own personal space. This way, you can have an entire house to yourself and have a full kitchen.

Quail meadow: Quail Meadow is an example of cabin accommodation in Wawona. It has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and, with folding beds, it can accommodate up to 11 people. Although it is not air conditioned, it is well sheltered from the sun and does not heat up in the summer, it has gas heaters for the winter.

  • Accommodation capacity : Up to 11 people
  • Understand : Satellite TV and WiFi, gas barbecue and private terrace
  • Pets: Animals are not allowed
  • Cost: Starting at $ 323 per night (plus $ 135 cleaning fee, $ 39 damage waiver fee, 13.5% country tax
