Welcome new owners of Cannon Beach Hotel, McBee Cottages and Hearthstone Inn | Community

In the summer of 2021, the Cannon Beach Hotel, the Courtyard, McBee Cottages and Hearthstone Inn were purchased by a group of owners led by three business school friends (Kevin, Daniel and Rhys) who attended the Wharton together School in Philadelphia. All were preparing their Masters in Business Administration and came together through Avenir Hospitality in this new investment adventure in the hotel industry. They were looking for small, independent, charming boutique hotels in a beautiful location on the beach, and had heard that Cannon Beach was one of the “prettiest beaches”, so when they found the magical little town of Cannon Beach, they knew this was where they wanted to be.

Daniel said they are thrilled to be part of the Cannon Beach community and to work with their team to build on the history of hospitality at Cannon Beach.

Kevin and Daniel lived in Cannon Beach for 7 months after the acquisition and now visit the properties and town frequently throughout the year. They partnered with hotel management company Life House and together hired local resident Sue Neuer to manage the day-to-day operations of all the hotels. Their plan is to keep the hotels largely as they are, finding ways to improve the guest experience while maintaining each property’s unique style and vibe.

MacGregor’s recently moved to the Cannon Beach Hotel and serves breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday through Tuesday (closed Wednesday and Thursday) while also being open for whiskey and drinks in the evening with their small menu of plates from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday (closed Monday and Tuesday) Come see Chip MacGregor for breakfast at the Cannon Beach Hotel, or grab a glass of whiskey after work and enjoy of the atmosphere.

Stop and meet Kevin, Daniel and Rhys. Cannon Beach offers you a warm welcome and best wishes.
