Somerset Hotels are currently looking for new owners

Tourism in Weston-super-Mare offers many opportunities in the hospitality and events sector.

So much so that there are currently a handful of opportunities to own and run your own hotel / restaurant on the Somerset coast.

With annual attractions that include the Weston Air Festival and the Sea Shanty celebrations, it’s not hard to see why thousands of tourists flock to the city each year.

First, the Savoy Hotel located on Birnbeck Road is currently looking for new owners.

The 27-room, four-story hotel offers stunning views of the Grand Pier and Weston Marine Lake.

The attractive proposition is one of the larger properties available for purchase in the city right now, and it includes a large open-plan dining room and restaurant.

Dating back to the 19th century, the hotel has been owned and operated by a client since 2014, run as a lifestyle business offering only guest rooms.

However, due to its location and views, the listing indicates that it is possible for potential owners to develop the property and open it up to members of the public, alongside guests.

This could all be yours for £ 875,000.

Just steps from the seafront on Knightstone Road, the popular Smith’s Hotel has also gone on sale.

Again, as with many properties for sale in the area, Smith’s main selling point is the spectacular view of the Bristol Channel.

However, this business venture is currently open to guests not staying in a room overnight.

The large restaurant and dining room which can seat up to 180 people combined is an extremely popular destination for visitors and tourists alike.

The hotel has 50 rooms spread over five floors, all with private bathrooms.

In the year ending February 2018, the company recorded profits of over £ 1,000,000, which equates to around £ 300,000 in profit.

It will set you back £ 2,500,000 if you plan to buy this one.

A few doors down is a very similar but much smaller guesthouse and restaurant for sale.

The Mentone Hotel has been the same owner since 1972, but having decided to retire, the property is now for sale.

There are currently 16 en-suite bedrooms and 7 unused bedrooms.

The guide price for this is currently £ 1,450,000.

Finally, what you might call a “more affordable” option is available on Manilla Crescent.

The 30-bedroom guesthouse called New Birchfield Hotel can accommodate up to 60 people and comes with a furnished bar and terrace for al fresco drinks and dining.

The New Birchfield Hotel’s outdoor terrace

Currently available for £ 795,000, it also houses a small guest lounge that can accommodate around 20 people.

These opportunities could provide a great business prospect for many potential owners.
