It was announced in January 2021 that Disney’s Magical Express service would end for good in early 2022. This left many guests wondering how they would get to Walt Disney World from Orlando International Airport.
Mears, the transportation company that Disney uses for this service, immediately announced that it would continue to provide shuttle service for Walt Disney World guests, but inevitably at a price.
We quickly found out that this service would be called Mears Connect and it was announced this week that the booking site is now live for bookings from January 1, 2022. Upon arriving at the booking site, you have two options. :
- Standard – which is a shared service, large vehicles and monitored waiting time
- Premium – Direct service with limited waiting time
After selecting your preferred option, you will need to provide your drop-off and return location, flight dates and times to determine the final price for your shuttle to Walt Disney World.
It looks like the standard service will be very similar to the experience customers had with Disney’s Magical Express, minus the magic of Disney. Coaches stop at various Disney hotels. The Premium service will essentially be a taxi service from the airport directly to your Resort.
Standard service currently costs $ 32 roundtrip for adults and $ 27 for children. If you are looking for a single trip, the cost is currently $ 16 per adult and $ 13.50 per child.
Premium service will cost $ 200 for four people with an additional $ 55 per additional person.
For a full price breakdown, more details on the service and to view FAQs as well as to book, visit the official Mears Connect website. here.
There are many ways for guests to get from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World hotels, including Uber and Lyft, as well as renting a car and in the future the Brightline train, although it is unlikely that it will serve Walt Disney World before 2025. It is always a good idea to research which option is best to meet your needs at the cheapest possible price. Mears Connect is sure to be a great option for many and it’s great news that the reservation site is now live and ready to take your reservation.
